A space for the community to grow, a space to meet and sit.
Appin community garden is a new project, currently at design stage on a site in the heart of Port Appin. The design and planning work is being undertaken by Appin Community Development Trust who will establish a project group to guide the development work and help draw up plans for long term management of the facility.
Initial proposals have been drawn up showing layout possibilities and these will provide the basis for further discussion by the project group. Options so far include a community growing space, community orchard and seating areas. Additional ideas may be identified through community consultation.
We are keen to hear from anyone living locally who would like to join the project group and help plan and deliver our community garden. If you have skills and experience relevant to the design and/or management of a community garden please do join us!
Support from the community of Appin is vital to the creation and long term maintenance of our community garden. This support will help us ensure that the garden stays clean, safe and productive for all who use it.
