In late 2013 it was recognised that BT had not included Appin in plans for broadband roll-out. After consultation with Community Broadband Scotland a working group completed a survey and published a scoping report. This defined the current very poor ADSL performance and the community’s essential needs for broadband. The report on Appin and Lismore's broadband was completed and submitted to Community Broadband Scotland (CBS), British Telecom (BT) and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE). In September 2018, Audit Scotland issued a report called "Superfast broadband for Scotland, Further progress update". The report examined whether the Scottish Government achieved its target of providing access to a fibre broadband network to 95 per cent of Scottish premises by 31 December 2017. It also examined the progress being made on the Scottish Government's vision to have a world-class digital infrastructure. You can download "Superfast broadband for Scotland" here>
