Apologies for delay in publishing this, but travelling through yesterday, I can't yet see any works but please be prepared.
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking essential drainage works on the A828 trunk road at Portnacrosih, Appin. Please find attached location plan for geographical clarity.
The drainage works are programmed to be undertaken between 8am and 4.30pm each day from Monday 24th November to Friday 6th December 2025, with no works being carried out at the weekend.
The A828 will remain open. However, due to the nature of the works, and limited road width, it will be necessary to implement a traffic management system incorporating two-way temporary traffic lights with a 10mph convoy system on the A828 carriageway. Traffic management will be removed out with working times. This is to ensure the safety of our workforce and members of the public, which is of paramount importance.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Premises and residents within the traffic management will be permitted access and egress during the works, although there may be times when this is restricted due to the nature of the works and to ensure the safety of our workforce and members of the public.
BEAR Scotland and Transport Scotland wish to thank the local community and road users in advance for their patience during these essential works.
Should you require further information, or wish to discuss these proposals, please do not hesitate to contact us by email at NWConsultation@bearscotland.co.uk.
