A828 Connel Bridge Resurfacing – Information Letter Updated
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking essential carriageway resurfacing on A828 Connel Bridge between 18th May 2026 and 24th May 2026.
Due to the nature of the works and the narrow width of the carriageway, works will take place overnight, with bridge closures to vehicular traffic. The closures are planned to run for six nights starting on Monday 18th May, between 22:00 and 06:00 each night.
Following feedback from the community, amnesties at 12am, 2am, and 4am will be provided to allow waiting vehicles to cross the bridge.
The works are weather dependent, any significant changes or delays to the programme will be advertised where possible.
Pedestrian access will be maintained where possible with pedestrians escorted safely across the bridge when required. Access will be maintained separately for emergency services.
We understand that works of this nature can be disruptive and have been planned the works overnight when traffic flows are lower, to keep any impact to a minimum. BEAR Scotland and Transport Scotland wish to thank the local community in advance for their patience during these essential works.
