Community Council elections are taking place for Community Councils within the Argyll and Bute area on 20 October 2022.  Nominations are open for those interested in becoming a candidate.

 

Community Councils are the most local tier of statutory representation.  They have an important role in local democracy by representing public concern or views about local issues to the local authority other public, and private agencies.  

 

This is your opportunity to get involved in a range of activities including:

 

·    Commenting on planning and licensing applications

·    Organising local galas or events

·    Campaigning on local issues

·    Conducting local surveys

·    Environmental or other local projects

 

Candidates must be 16 or over at thedate of the election, be registered as a local government elector for the community council area they are standing in, and be resident in thisarea.  

 

Nomination forms will be available from Council Service points, the Council website and from the Returning Officer, Kilmory, Lochgilphead PA31 8RT from 17 August 2022 onwards.

 

The nomination paper must be returned, by hand, post or email, to the Returning Officer no later than 4pm on Thursday 8 September 2022.
