A warm space to come together for a cuppa, cake and chat, plus your chance to be part of a wonderful project.
Local artist Midge Gourlay will be leading on Appin's contribution to the 'Spirit of the Highlands and Islands Tapestry. The Tapesty will be a chronological history of the Highlands and lslands told in 52 tapestry panels to be stitched by local volunteer stitchers from across the area. In creating the tapesty, communities throughout the Highlands and Islands will become involved in a huge community arts project as both story contributors and stitchers. Featuring participation from people who know the area well will enable communities to decide how to tell the sotry of the natural and cultural heritage in their own area through the tapestry panels.
The panel allocated to Appin is dedicated to the Standing Stones at Kilmartin. All materials will be provided along with expert tuition from our project leader. You do not need experience and all are welcome.
