4TH GENERATION TERM CONTRACT FOR MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE SCOTTISH TRUNK ROAD NETWORK – NORTH WEST UNITA85 WEST PLANNED MAINTENANCE – INFORMATION LETTER

We are writing to inform you that BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking essential carriageway resurfacing works across four locations on the A85 trunk road.The works are programmed for construction from Wednesday 28th April for 2 weeks. Full details regarding timings and traffic management can be found in the table below.

A85 East of Fearnoch Tuesday 4th May – Friday 7thMay (3 days) 07:00 – 19:00 Dayshift Convoy

A85 East of Connel Monday 10th May – Tuesday 11th May (2 days) 07:00 – 19:00 Dayshift Convoy

A85 East of Dalmally Wednesday 12th May (1 day) 07:00 – 19:00 Dayshift Convoy

Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times. Out with working hours, traffic management will be removed however, a temporary 30 mph speed limit will remain in place as road users will be travelling over a temporary surface.The safety of maintenance workers remains a top priority during this project and strict physical distancing protocols, in line with Scottish Government guidance, will be in place to ensure all on-site personnel remain safe throughout the duration of the project. Robust risk assessments have been completed to ensure all staff are kept safe.
